Link’s Equipment Guide – The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Link's Equipment Guide

If there’s one thing I do when I play a game (besides trying to relax and enjoy myself), it’s look up information. I get curious or stuck, and I find myself turning to the internet for answers. There are a lot of good guides out there that are super helpful, but what I don’t see are an abundance of simple and clean visual guides that lay out all the information in one place.

I finished playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past earlier this year and it felt good to finally find everything and complete the game! I thought it would be helpful and fun to make a couple guides on where to find all of Link’s equipment and items for anyone else who may be curious and wondering where they are.

This visual or infographic guide is for Link’s “Equipment” and action or “Do” items as organized on the inventory screen. I will have another guide for the “Items” as organized on the inventory screen.

Please let me know if you would like me to work on a guide for the other collectibles within The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or if there are any games you would like to see visual information or guides for in the future! I love helping people, discussing games and organizing information!

Paper Mario: The Origami King – Question Block Guides

There are a lot of good guides out there that are super helpful, but what I don’t see are an abundance of simple and clean visual guides that lay out all the information in one place.

I’ve finished playing Paper Mario: The Origami King and I loved it! All of the characters are so charming (including those previously considered villains like Kamek) and no one more so than newcomer Olivia. Olivia is such a positive, charming, lovable character in all her naivety…and just like that I’ve realized I have a real soft spot for characters that view the world with wonder.

If you want to earn 100% completion and/or score the secret ending there’s a lot of work to do! In an effort to help, I’ve created guides to help you find all of the Question Blocks or ? Blocks.

These visual or infographic guides are separated by Streamer Color and then the areas within. The Question Blocks are in no particular order, though I did my best to list them in a progressive way as you move through an area. I numbered them to clearly show how many are in each area with a detailed description on where to find them.

Please let me know if you would like me to work on a guide for the other collectibles within Paper Mario: The Origami King or if there are any games you would like to see visual information or guides for in the future! I love helping people, discussing games and organizing information!

Kingdom Hearts – Visual 101 Dalmatians Guide

I’ve finished playing Kingdom Hearts as I work my way through the entire series and I’ve created a 101 Dalmatian guide for myself and those who may need it.

This infographic is organized by the dalmatian’s numbers, their locations and the ability needed to reach them. I’ve also included the rewards received per number of puppies returned at the top of the page.

Tabletop Game – Let’s Play Blokus!

Tabletop Game Blokus by Mattel GamesI’m always on the look out for a fun, entertaining way to pass the time like a good tabletop game! Blokus was introduced to us by my husband’s parents and we enjoyed playing it so much we purchased it straightaway!

Tabletop Game Blokus by Mattel GamesBlokus is a two to four player strategy game that can be played with reckless abandon, or the studied care one would reserve for Chess or Checkers.

Players each choose a color and a corner, then decide who goes first; turns proceed clockwise around the board. To begin, each player must use their first turn to lay down a piece that covers their base corner’s square. Play then continues with each player placing one piece each turn that must touch the corner of one of their colored pieces, but only the corners! Full sides of the same color may not touch one another.

Tabletop Game Blokus by Mattel GamesWhen a player reaches a point where they cannot place another piece, they are done. The game ends when no player can place anymore pieces. Once the game ends the players count the number of squares in their unplayed pieces, the player with the lowest number of squares left, wins!

Tabletop Game Blokus by Mattel GamesMy only complaint is based on the packaging or storage. The version we purchased has no storage for the 84 colored pieces which is surprising and disappointing. I use four sandwich bags, one for each color to store them. This cuts down on the amount of time spent sifting through the pieces before starting each game!

Tabletop Game Blokus by Mattel GamesIf you’re looking for a fun, fresh take on a timeless strategy game that feels like a spiritual successor to Checkers and/or Chess, check out Blokus!

Tabletop Game – Let’s Play Kanoodle!

Tabletop Game Let's Play KanoodleI’m always on the look-out for a fun, entertaining way to pass the time, like a good tabletop game! I purchased Kanoodle by educational insights, as a stocking stuffer for my husband and we ignored it for too long! This game is a great way to pass the time and a good way to stimulate your brain!

Tabletop Game Let's Play KanoodleKanoodle is a solitaire game for ages 7 and up, of two and three dimensional puzzles to solve using up to 12 puzzles pieces called “noodles”. You pick a puzzle from the included booklet, and put the intended number of noodles on the board as shown on the diagram. Do not move noodles that are already in position and solve each puzzle by filling up the empty space with the remaining noodles.

The first two levels, called “Pro” and “Super Pro”, are great for beginners with only one or two noodles needed to solve each puzzle. As the levels increase the puzzle’s difficulty does as well with larger empty spaces to fill with more noodles. The three dimensional puzzles are significantly more difficult so it’s best to start with the two dimensional puzzles and work your way up.

Tabletop Game Let's Play Kanoodle Tabletop Game Let's Play KanoodleI have completed all of the two dimensional puzzles, I am now working on the three dimensional puzzles and I intend to complete them all! Check it out!

  • Kanoodle – This looks like an updated version of the one I’m playing, with more puzzles!
  • Kanoodle Jr. – Beginner’s Kanoodle for little ones ages 4 through 7.
  • Kanoodle Extreme – Over 100 more puzzles than the original included from the start!
  • Kanoodle Genius – For those who have mastered the original Kanoodle or Kanoodle Extreme and are looking for more challenge.
  • Kanoodle Head to Head – A 2 player versus game.

Dragon Age: Origins Microreview – 20/20!

I cannot believe I allowed myself to overlook Dragon Age: Origins for so long! I love a game that places a lot of the power in the player’s hands. From creating a character that looks the way you want, to dialogue and action choices that shape the way the world in the game perceives you and evolves; the choices are yours. This makes the game a lot more engaging and the characters more intimate. Though it can sometimes be a chore to play a dated game for the sake of playing a series from start to finish, I enjoyed every minute of Dragon Age: Origins.

Mass Effect 3 Microreview – 20/20!

In Mass Effect 3, despite Shepard’s efforts in the previous games, the Reapers have brought the battle to Earth and it is…devastating… The first 15 minutes of gameplay are enough to make you sob at the amount of destruction and death the Reapers are capable of. While Anderson stays behind on Earth to rally a resistance, Shepard leaves to plea to the Council for help. Whether the council rejects or accepts Shepard’s claims, it is up to him/her to unite rival civilizations into an army for the final battle against the Reapers.

Many, many people hated the ending of this game. Fortunately, I was able to patch mine and play it after it was fixed so I didn’t have the same incomplete-feeling experience others did, but I can understand their anger and frustration.

Mass Effect 2 Microreview – 20/20!

Mass Effect 2 focuses on people: gaining loyalty and forming relationships with your crew and other characters. The story takes place two years after the first and sees Shepard reluctantly working for Cerberus, a xenophobic human-first organization whose full intentions are unclear, but for the moment seem to want to save humans from the Reapers. With Cerberus’ help, Shepard and his/her crew battle the Collectors, an alien race abducting entire human colonies in a second contingency plan to help the Reapers return.

This is my favorite game in the Mass Effect trilogy. It improved upon the first game, but allowed the player to save the crew if they played everything right, which is much appreciated when you have built a character from the first game forward.
