Hector: Badge of Carnage Microreview – 17/20!

Hector: Badge of Carnage is an episodic graphic adventure game developed by Straandlooper and published by Telltale Games.

Hector is a drunken, violent and vulgar detective inspector with the Clappers Wreake Police Department. “Everyone is guilty” is his credo and although he has a personal penchant for certain criminal activities, he struggles to eliminate the truly warped and perverse criminals infesting Clappers Wreake; the crime capital of England and the town that took the ‘Great’ out of Britain.

This game is funky good! Picture a crime drama, with a large injection of vulgarity and offbeat humor and you’re in the plot of Hector: Badge of Carnage. The animation style is quirky and unique, but shouldn’t be mistaken for crude (unless we’re discussing subject matter). The sound quality (not to be confused with the voice acting) of the first episode was a little rough and hollow, but improved with each episode.

The Walking Dead: Season Two Microreview – 19/20!

I’ve watched The Walking Dead television series, and I’ve completed The Walking Dead: Season One, but Season Two really explores the depth of human corruption. I found the heartache from the first game, largely replaced by misgivings toward Clementine’s companions and the struggle to maintain her own decency towards others. Eventually the stark will to survive, and the opportunity to protect innocent lives, gave me hope for the future of the series.

The Walking Dead: Season One Microreview – 20/20!

I’ve watched The Walking Dead television series, but nothing prepared me for the raw emotionality of the video game series. The heartbreaking choices you have to make, the stark will to survive, the fierce protection you feel for Clementine; it overwhelms you. You become involved with the characters and become responsible for their hunger, protection and sometimes their immediate lives.

The Wolf Among Us Microreview – 19/20

The Wolf Among Us is a prequel of and in canon to Vertigo Comic’s Fables series where various characters from fairy tales and folklore have been driven from their homeland into our world and created a community known as “Fabletown” within New York City. You take on the role of “Bigby” (the Big Bad Wolf), the reformed Sheriff of Fabletown, as he investigates corruption and murder.

Believe me when I tell you that the characters, plot and visuals will inspire you to invest yourself in this series if you’re not already familiar. If you are already familiar, its icing on the cake!
