Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Microreview – 17/20!

This game features the isometric camera and arcade-style combat that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light does, but I didn’t feel the same charm. I believe the directional controls changed just enough from one game to the other to hinder and frustrate gameplay, but I do still appreciate the style!

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Microreview – 19/20!

The Tomb Raider series is an institution among the video game community. There have been many games featuring Miss Lara Croft, so it’s some kind of wonderful to experience the ones that step outside the box. Unlike previous installments, this game features an isometric viewpoint with arcade-style combat that I found to be fantastic!

The Walking Dead: Season Two Microreview – 19/20!

I’ve watched The Walking Dead television series, and I’ve completed The Walking Dead: Season One, but Season Two really explores the depth of human corruption. I found the heartache from the first game, largely replaced by misgivings toward Clementine’s companions and the struggle to maintain her own decency towards others. Eventually the stark will to survive, and the opportunity to protect innocent lives, gave me hope for the future of the series.

The Walking Dead: Season One Microreview – 20/20!

I’ve watched The Walking Dead television series, but nothing prepared me for the raw emotionality of the video game series. The heartbreaking choices you have to make, the stark will to survive, the fierce protection you feel for Clementine; it overwhelms you. You become involved with the characters and become responsible for their hunger, protection and sometimes their immediate lives.

The Wolf Among Us Microreview – 19/20

The Wolf Among Us is a prequel of and in canon to Vertigo Comic’s Fables series where various characters from fairy tales and folklore have been driven from their homeland into our world and created a community known as “Fabletown” within New York City. You take on the role of “Bigby” (the Big Bad Wolf), the reformed Sheriff of Fabletown, as he investigates corruption and murder.

Believe me when I tell you that the characters, plot and visuals will inspire you to invest yourself in this series if you’re not already familiar. If you are already familiar, its icing on the cake!

Limbo Microreview – 17/20!

This game, in all its monochromatic glory, is absolutely stunning to look at, but somewhat of a bother to play. Limbo is built on a trial and error gameplay where you may (let’s be honest, you will) die multiple times to figure out the right path or action. I’m not a huge fan of repetition and therefore knocked the fun factor and gameplay scores down.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4 Microreview – 18/20!

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1- 4 was a cute rendition of the Harry Potter world that I would love to experience on a bigger screen than my iPhone. The mobile controls were easy enough to learn, but I wasn’t interested in replaying each level over again once I’d learned new spells or earned new characters, to complete the game with 100%.
